Supporter Louise Rayner recently braved the weather for a whole week to take on the incredible challenge to be Rickmansworth Running Postie. Louise raised sponsorship and donated her Royal Mail salary as well as match funding from her company NumberMill Ltd, raising a total of £4,971.

St Helen’s School held their first fundraising event in this academic year, raising £677.85 for us. Katie Pickering, Head of Prep School PE and Prep House Coordinator said: “The event was our annual calendar sale, our version of a Christmas Fair. Our Year 6 students led 4 stalls including chocolate tombola, sweet station, children’s raffle and a buzzwire game. It was a fun filled few hours on all activities to raise money for the charity.”

This year’s Captain and Lady Captain of Moor Park Golf and Tennis Club, David Lansdowne and Sue Knight, have taken up their roles for the year, having both selected Paul Strickland Scanner Centre as their charity of the year. They are planning many great activities throughout the year and have set up a Justgiving page for anyone who would like to contribute. You can donate at www.justgiving.com/page/captains-2025. We are delighted to announce that this year our Annual Charity Golf Day will be held on Monday 9 June at Moor Park Golf Club. Our event will start with coffee and bacon rolls served from 11.30am, then 18 holes of golf on the world-renowned championship High Course at 1.30pm. There are competitions and fun activities throughout the day, with a delicious 3 course meal served before the auction and prize giving. To find out more or book your place.

The Festive Fun Raffle was drawn on 16 January and all winners have been notified. A total of £4,137 was raised so thank you to everyone who bought tickets. We are very grateful to the prize donors, Revelation Cleaners, Browns Brasserie in Ruislip, and some wonderful winter hampers were donated by various donors including Waitrose and Asda.

Stanmore resident and dedicated fundraiser Matthew Snell braved the elements to complete the London Winter Walk 10K challenge, raising vital funds for us. Inspired to give back to the organisation that has supported his family and friends, Matthew took on the scenic route, crossing six iconic London bridges alongside hundreds of fellow walkers. Matthew said: “I did it! Walking 10K, crossing six London bridges with plenty of other walkers to support me — and a little rain to keep us hydrated!”
