Record scan numbers prompt radiologist recruitment drive

Paul Strickland Scanner Centre is recruiting additional radiologists in order to meet record referrals to our award-winning service.

Paul Strickland Scanner Centre is recruiting additional radiologists in order to meet record referrals to our award-winning
service.

The centre boasts its own in-house team of cancer imaging experts who work closely with referrers at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and other hospitals. The recruitment drive for additional radiologists comes as the number of scans is set to reach 21,000 for this financial year—the highest-ever number. The increased scan numbers come after a sustained investment drive at the centre over the past years, and the installation of two new MRI scanners and a new PET-CT scanner recently.

All three new scanners are equipped with very advanced new artificial intelligence software, which allows patients to be scanned much more rapidly, meaning more patients can be scanned during a given day than previously.

We are currently experiencing a high volume of scans, which may have an impact on the time it takes to get your results. Please bear with us while we address this and catch up.
