We take stock of last year’s success while looking ahead at the supporter calendar for the upcoming months
A huge thank you to all the prize donors for our Festive Fun Raffle, including The Landmark Hotel and Ruislip Combined Charity. The draw was held on 12 January, and all winners have been notified. The raffle raised more than £4,000 thanks to everyone who took part.
David Lansdowne and Sue Knight pulled out all the stops during their year as Captain and Lady Captain of Moor Park Golf Club, holding endless events and drumming up support for Paul Strickland Scanner Centre. They raised an amazing total of more than £32,000 throughout the year in addition to the huge contribution towards the 2025 Golf Day at Moor Park, which raised over £10,000 more than previous years. We are so grateful to them both, and all the members of Moor Park Golf Club for their wonderful efforts to gain such an incredible result.
Every December, Pinner Rotary take Santa on a sleigh ride through the streets of Pinner, delighting the local children and raising funds for their charities, which included Paul Strickland Scanner Centre in 2025. The elves were out in full force and had a great time helping Santa.

Stepping Up For Cancer, our popular spring walk, returns on Bank Holiday Monday on 4 May. More information
Jenny Morris will be running the London Marathon in 2026 in place of her partner Tino, who is a patient at the centre. Jenny said “I’ve been given Tino’s marathon place this year, not out of choice but because Tino has been poorly. I’m not a runner, but I will do my very best to run 26 miles for him, for our family, and for the incredible team at Paul Strickland Scanner Centre. “Tino was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010, and in 2013 it spread to his lymph nodes shortly after our daughter was born. Regular scans detected his cancer early and gave him every chance. Life since hasn’t been easy. Tino has had many challenges and is now awaiting further radiotherapy. “So this marathon is not just about running. It’s about gratitude, resilience, and hope. It’s about saying thank you to Paul Strickland Scanner Centre for their extraordinary work in detecting cancer early and giving families like ours more time together. We are incredibly grateful to everyone there.”
