Our annual golf day held earlier this month raised £25,000. The charity’s annual 18-hole team Stableford Competition was held at the prestigious Moor Park Golf Club after Paul Strickland Scanner Centre was recently chosen as the Moor Park Captains’ charity of the year. The golf day has become a long-standing event that golfing supporters look forward to every year. This year was the charity’s biggest golf day yet with 27 teams taking part. The competition was won by The Chorleywood Chippers, with runners up The J2’s in 2nd place and The Chipperfield Choppers in 3rd place. Prizes were presented by Gladstone Small, former England Test Cricketer.

Caroline Wren, senior fundraiser at Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, said: “We had a fantastic turnout this year, 108 players took to the High Course at Moor Park Golf Club for an afternoon of golf. The sun came out, and the team at Moor Park Golf Club were brilliant hosts. A huge thank you to David Lansdowne and Sue Knight, Captain and Lady Captain at Moor Park Golf Club for all their help and support in hosting the day, as well as all our supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and golfers for their generosity, raising a total of £25,000. A special thanks to Andrew Binstock of Auction House London for running our very successful auction.”

The proceeds of the golf day will enable the centre to buy new state-of-the-art cannulation chairs – helping to give every patient at Paul Strickland Scanner Centre the best possible service and care.

Our annual charity golf day will be back next year. Look out for the date.
