Charity supported study reaches recruitment milestone

The EMPIRIC trial, led by our Clinical Research Fellow Dr Mohammed Abdul Latif, is making significant progress in cervical cancer research. Dr Latif reports that 30 patients have now joined the study, with all completing their trial images, biopsies, and blood tests successfully.

Paul Strickland Scanner Centre has been praised for its efficiency and teamwork, ensuring smooth experiences for patients. Early findings suggest that functional MRI can reveal how cervical cancer changes during treatment, offering hope for more personalised and effective therapies.

With recruitment continuing, the trial aims to further validate these insights. Dr Latif expressed gratitude to Paul Strickland Scanner Centre donors for our ongoing support, emphasising that the research is paving the way towards improved outcomes for cervical cancer patients across the UK.
