The support we receive from our amazing donors comes in all shapes and sizes — and every bit of it helps to give our patients the best care. From small regular donations to attending an event, involving your local club or group or leaving a gift in your will, these acts of kindness, however big or small, have a huge impact. In this edition of Inside View, with Remember A Charity Week approaching, we are focusing on a few of the many ways local people help us.

St Helen’s School in Northwood chose Paul Strickland Scanner Centre as their charity of the year, ending with their annual House Charities afternoon in June. They had a fun filled afternoon where the Year 6 students ran fun fair style stalls to raise money and win house tokens for their houses. Katie Pickering, Head of Prep School PE and Prep House Coordinator, said “This year we had activities including hook a duck, soak the teacher, limbo, Malteser challenge and many more. The playground was filled with lots of house spirit and excitement. Soak the teacher was of course the most exciting! This event showed the excellent community spirit in St Helen’s Prep.” Thank you to all the pupils, staff and of course parents too for their wonderful support.

Our 2nd Quiz Night of the year was held in July and raised £2,237. Thanks as always to fantastic Quiz Masters Hilary and Alan Coulson, and also to Kate Day, Head of Greenfields Primary School, who along with her team of family members organised the catering and ran the bar. Thank you also to Asda, Waitrose and Tesco who all donated generous prizes.

Pinner Rotary have supported us with various events for many years and we are delighted that this year, thanks to incoming President Cathy Kim, we will be one of their two charities of the year. We are looking forward to working with them throughout the year and will be hosting a stall in the Charity Hub at the Pinner Village Show on Saturday 6 September. Come along for a great day out and pop in to see us.
