Fatty liver MRI service launched

We have launched a private Fatty Liver Assessment self-referral service, which is designed to identify liver disease earlier—before it can progress to serious conditions such as liver cancer.

Fatty liver disease often develops silently, with no obvious symptoms. Left undetected, it can lead to inflammation, scarring and, in some cases, liver cancer. Our MRI Superintendent Marie Fenessy said: “The new service provides a fast, non-invasive way to measure liver fat in just 5–10 minutes, giving clinicians and patients clear, actionable information at an early stage, when intervention can be most effective.”

By offering this service directly to the public via our website, we are widening access to advanced diagnostic imaging while also supporting our wider charitable mission. Income generated through self-referral scans is reinvested into front line patient care, helping to fund vital imaging services, earlier diagnosis and better outcomes for our patients.”
