From raising sponsorship by taking part in running events to quiz nights and even a comedy night—your support matters
On 7 September Lucy Davies completed The Big Half Marathon in London, raising over £1,700 so far. In 2018, Lucy’s sister Charlotte was diagnosed with melanoma. After 6 years of operations, scans and chemotherapy treatment, she was finally given the all clear in 2024. Lucy said that without Charlotte’s scans at Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, she may not have been diagnosed so early. She went on to say “The Scanner Centre was able to give Charlotte safe options for surveillance scanning while she was pregnant with my nephew. I’m so proud of my big sister and her immense bravery and strength.” Lucy took on this huge challenge to celebrate her sister being given the all-clear.
On 28 September Kristie and Kerri Wilmott along with Ruby Disspain joined up as a team for the 2nd consecutive year to complete the Vitality 10,000. The charity is close to all of their hearts as their immediate family members had used our services for cancer imaging. Kristie said “It is such a fun day at Vitality and we love raising the funds for you guys!” Thanks to them all for raising over £600 so far, with funds still coming in as we go to press.
Our Quiz night Saturday 18 October Greenfields Primary School was completely sold out. Congratulations to the winning team, Pinner Rotary! The next quiz will be held on Saturday 28 February 2026, so make sure you book early and don’t miss out.

Champions
On 16 October we held a coffee morning for our Champions, with talks by CEO Claire Strickland, Pierre du Bois and Advanced Radiographer Manpreet Kaur Punia. Thanks to Wenzel’s The Bakers, who provided delicious doughnuts and cakes to accompany the coffee. Our Champions are supporters and volunteers who are keen to get involved, either by volunteering with events or in the office, or by holding their own events to raise funds and awareness of the work we do at the scanner centre. If you are interested in joining this group, please get in touch with Caroline Wren on 01923 886315.
Our next event for Champions will be the Christmas Lunch held at Uxbridge Golf Course on 3 December. It is a 3 course carvery meal with coffee and costs £35pp. You can book your place on the booking form enclosed.
