Louise Rayner, a businesswoman from Rickmansworth, has raised nearly £7,000 for Paul Strickland Scanner Centre in Northwood by running the London Marathon.

Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, at Mount Vernon Hospital, is a world-class cancer imaging facility which operates as a medical charity and scans about 15,000 patients every year. The centre operates as an independent medical charity and provides life-changing CT, MRI and PET-CT scans used to diagnose and monitor mainly cancer, but also other serious conditions. Paul Strickland Scanner Centre relies on fundraising and voluntary donations to make sure patients can benefit from leading edge scanning equipment and furthers medical research into cancer and other conditions.

Louise chose to dedicate her fundraising for Paul Strickland Scanner Centre to her late friend Julia, who was a patient at the centre and one of Louise’s oldest and best friends.

Louise, who is delighted to have finished in 4hrs 35minutes, said: “It was absolutely amazing; the crowds were fantastic. I thought of Julia every mile of the run.”

Louise’s business, NumberMill Accounting, will match any money Louise is able to raise in sponsorship.
