New PET-CT Scanner

Our new PET-CT scanner was delivered to the centre during March, ready for installation in the coming months. Arrival of the new scanner, which is so advanced that it will replace our two existing PET-CT scanners, is the latest development in a multi-million pound upgrade to Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, made possible by voluntary donations.

Apart from producing images much faster than the two scanners it replaces — which translates into significantly shorter scanning times — it is also more comfortable and is capable of producing higher quality scan images, which can make a difference to diagnosis and treatment decisions.

‘Relax and View’ panels are already up and running in our new PET-CT scanning suite, ready for installation of the new scanner.
