A leading consultant radiologist at Paul Strickland Scanner Centre has been rated as a world expert in prostatic neoplasms such as prostate cancer, it has been announced.

Expertscape, a directory that helps patients find the most knowledgeable health professionals in the world, has ranked Prof Anwar Padhani, our lead consultant for MRI, as a World Expert in Prostatic Neoplasms.

A prostatic neoplasm is an abnormal mass of tissue affecting the prostate gland that forms when cells grow and divide more than they should, or do not die when they should, such as in prostate cancer.

In a statement, Expertscape said: “To be ranked among the top experts in the world is a rather significant achievement. Our rankings have become widely recognised and respected in medical and scientific communities worldwide because the objective results are based on peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals.”

Prof. Anwar R. Padhani is an internationally recognized Oncological MRI Radiologist at Paul Strickland Scanner Centre. He is Professor of Cancer Imaging at the Institute of Cancer Research, London.
