A charity golf day held to raise money to for Paul Strickland Scanner Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital raised £12,000 earlier this month.

The charity’s annual 18-hole team Stableford Competition has become a longstanding event that golfing supporters look forward to every year.

This year, we 15 teams took part on Tuesday 13 June. The competition was won by The Holey Moleys, which included auctioneer Andrew Binstock, with runners up Jamless Doughnuts in 2nd place and Ground Cover Drivers in 3rd place. Patrick Gallagher from Sandy Lodge Golf Club had a day to remember as he scored a Hole in One on the 12th Hole.

Caroline Wren, Paul Strickland Scanner Centre fundraiser, said: “We had another great turnout again this year; the sun was out, and the team at Denham Golf Club were brilliant hosts as usual.

A big thank you to all our supporters and golfers for their generosity and everyone who helped make this another amazing charity golf day. A special thanks also go to our volunteers on the day, in particular to Pam Holland and her helpers from Moor Park Golf Club. Auction and raffle prizes were kindly donated by local businesses and individuals.

Here’s to next year’s golf day, with will be held on Tuesday 11 June 2024. We’ve already started planning the event!”
